As the nation gears up for the most anticipated gardening festival of the year – Bord Bia Bloom in the Phoenix Park – the Flower Farmers of Ireland are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a stand there for the first time.

From May 30th to June 3rd, some of our flower farmers from all across Ireland will be present to showcase their locally grown blooms and highlight the benefits and importance of Irish grown flowers.

Our members are united by their passion for sustainable cut flower farming. From the rolling hills of Wicklow to the wild Atlantic shores of Cork to Galway and all across Ireland, the 100 plus members of the Flower Farmers of Ireland produce their bouquets with a story that goes beyond just blooms – it’s a tale of dedication, creativity, patience and respect for nature in an industry sector worth over €97 million in 2023*.

Coming together as a diverse group of members from all walks of life and backgrounds, our product showcases the enormous variety of flowers & foliage that can be grown in Ireland. By choosing locally grown flowers, consumers not only support local economies but also connect with the rich tapestry of stories woven into each arrangement.

The organisations presence at Bord Bia Bloom is not merely about highlighting the importance of Irish grown flowers; it’s an invitation to delve into the world of sustainable flower farming. Visitors to our stand will have the opportunity to explore a vibrant array of locally grown blooms, meet some of the growers behind the flowers, find out more about what we do as a membership organisation and participate in insightful talks on topics such as growing pollinator friendly cut flowers and sustainability in flower farming in 2024.

In line with our commitment to environmental stewardship, the Flower Farmers of Ireland also place great emphasis on the crucial role of pollinators in the overall ecosystem. By opting for locally grown flowers, consumers contribute to the preservation of vital pollinator habitats and reduce the carbon footprint associated with imported blooms.

As an organisation, we believe in nurturing not just flowers, but also the entire ecosystem that sustains them with many farmers using regenerative and organic principles of farming. Choosing locally grown flowers is not just a choice; it’s a statement of solidarity with our planet and future generations.

Join the Flower Farmers of Ireland at Bord Bia Bloom from May 30th to June 3rd at Stand 16, The Nursery Village, Phoenix Park, and discover more about the beauty, fragrance, and stories behind every locally grown bouquet and the many services and products our growers provide.

Find your local flower farmer and let your floral arrangements tell a tale of sustainability, passion, and respect for nature.
